About this event
Howdy y'all. We will be getting into the weeks this month with a couple of language specific talks. Come on out and see how things are reasoned about in environments you may not be familiar with!
Elixer - Functional Programming - Jason Pollentier Elixer is a functional concurrent language that runs on the Erlang Virtual Machine (BEAM). So conceptually its has some similarities to Haskil and Scala. Jason is going to share how his company takes advantage of Elixer's unique strengths to solve their problems.
Pydantic - Enforcing Good Python Practices Pydantic is a Python framework used to enforce best practice and standards via configuration files. It's become more ubiquitous with the rise of the vibe coder to ensure sane and maintainable source. Chris Ewing will walk us through a Pydantic project and show us examples of the benefits while calling out some of the costs associated with it.
