- ➤ Mary Spirio founded Riverside Education Centers in 2005 to support underserved Riverside neighborhood students. Now celebrating its 20th anniversary, the center operates 15 sites, serving over 1,300 students with a $3.5 million budget (Spirio guides high school seniors toward higher education opportunities). SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Powderhorn Mountain Resort opened its West End lift on January 11 after a midweek storm dropped 15 inches of snow, drawing skiers. It is the final season for the 1972 lift, which will be replaced by the Wild West Express this summer ahead of the resort’s 60th anniversary. KKCO 11
