- ➤ The City of Grand Junction and Mesa County will host a community open house on Feb. 12 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Grand Junction Central Library to launch a Housing Needs Assessment, inviting residents to share housing priorities + the bilingual online survey remains open through March 31. Mesa County

- ➤ At a Tuesday night session with Fruita Council, Museums of Western Colorado discussed a proposed combined campus that would include a new addition (a dinosaur climbing structure for kids) at the Dinosaur Journey site. - ➤ Plateau Valley School District opened a new $66 million school building serving over 250 Pre K to 12 students today. The modern facility includes a STEM lab & ag shop, enhanced security and infrastructure, and was built with a $26 million grant to replace a 66 year old structure. KJCT
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Colorado Parks and Wildlife will pause grey wolf releases this winter due to a federal dispute over sourcing (the US Fish and Wildlife director raised concerns). The agency said additional reintroductions are planned for next winter while efforts to reduce wolf-livestock conflicts continue. KJCT

- ➤ Grand Junction City Manager Mike Bennett hosted the Books and Briefings event (at Barnes and Noble Cafe) yesterday, where community members over coffee learned about city services and priorities. The gathering helped strengthen dialogue between officials and residents. KJCT
- ➤ The Grand Junction City Council approved a $1.5M contract to build a one-mile detached sidewalk along Patterson Road from 24½ to 25½ Road over Ranchmen’s Ditch. - ➤ Snow is expected in the mountains this weekend as CDOT coordinates with weather and maintenance teams to keep roads safe plus address delays from the I-70 Floyd Hill Project between Idaho Springs and County Road 65. Motorists are urged to carry emergency kits for safe travel. KKCO 11
