- ➤ The owners of 626 on Rood announced the fine-dining restaurant will close on March 28 after nearly 20 years; Junct'n Square Pizza will open a full-service Italian restaurant in the same building (626 Rood Ave) in April to serve local diners. The Business Times

- ➤ At the VinCO Conference held Jan. 22 at the Grand Junction Convention Center, two Grand Valley winemakers were honored, with Kaibab Sauvage (2025 Grape Grower) and Richard McDonald (2025 Industry Friend) receiving awards while Aspen Peak Cellars in Bailey won Winery of the Year. - ➤ A study released Jan. 19 analyzed agriculture’s economic impact in Western Colorado, citing 9,123 jobs and $281.7 million in GDP along with challenges like drought and rising costs. - ➤ County crews in Mesa County will build a bike path and pedestrian bridge on top of water pipes along 38 Road using a $1.7M grant from the Colorado Water Conservation Board — a project intended to ease traffic flow in Orchard Mesa and aid farmers — with completion expected by spring 2027. - ➤ Mesa County Community Corrections case manager Jason Black received recognition on Jan. 14 from the Grand Junction Parole Office & its representative Jacob Reigel, who presented him a Certificate of Excellence and a commemorative coin for outstanding communication and teamwork. - ➤ Small business owners urged lawmakers at the statehouse on Jan. 27 to treat Main Street as a partner by restoring sales tax allowances, protecting the Labor Peace Act, and easing regulatory burdens.
