- ➤ Local nonprofit Light in the Darkness will host a Mega-Mega Clothing Giveaway on Sunday, Feb. 8 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at 900 North 23rd Street to distribute free clothing and hygiene products to those in need — free meals will be served by Jubilee Church. KJCT

- ➤ Mesa County's treasurer office mailed property tax bills to homeowners and said they will arrive within days while those unable to pay in full by April 30 may make installments (first due March 2 and second due June 15), and homeowners using mortgage escrow need not take any action. KJCT
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Mesa County recorded 139 flu-related hospitalizations since October - nearly double last year's 70 - and the health department will offer walk-in flu vaccines every Friday in February from 8 to 11 a.m. to protect vulnerable groups. KJCT
