ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Colorado River District's annual State of the River meeting will take place on Apr. 7 at the Meyer Ballroom of the University Center at Colorado Mesa University and will feature local water experts discussing issues such as snowpack levels and river flow forecasts. - ➤ The U.S. Forest Service plans to thin trees and clear vegetation on 2,600 acres along Fourmile Road near Sunlight Mountain Resort to reduce wildfire risk and improve forest health. - ➤ Palisade is improving river access and the boat launch at Riverbend Park with work to regrade the bank and build stairs and paths—many park users await easier launches and safer access.
