- ➤ The Lazy YH Ranch in Plateau Valley will be permanently conserved under a conservation easement from the Colorado West Land Trust. The 160-acre property, known for cattle grazing and vital wildlife habitat, will preserve open space and honor the late Doug Hall’s vision (by his family) for future generations. - ➤ On Feb. 17, Mesa County Commissioners approved a contract with Weaver Consultants Group to spend up to $163,000 on environmental oversight at the county landfill, funding routine compliance and special projects (including a rate study and waste audit) to ensure safe operations. Mesa County
- ➤ Mesa County is finalizing design work on 32½ Road’s middle section to connect completed segments, with construction expected to start late May or June & continue through winter once land agreements are secured with local property owners to improve traffic flow and safety. KKCO 11
- ➤ Colorado lawmakers introduced House Bill 26-1033 (The Tamale Act) to let home cooks sell items like tamales and burritos if they finish a food safety course; Gov. Jared Polis and state leaders said the measure would support culinary entrepreneurs and boost food freedom. KJCT
