ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Police and firefighters responded to a truck crashing into the front of Hair We Are (2518 Broadway) that caused minor structural damage, transported one person with minor injuries, and resulted in 69-year-old Lisa Stansbury receiving a ticket for Careless Driving Causing Bodily Injury as alcohol and speed were not factors. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Colorado State Patrol and several police departments conducted an I-70 enforcement operation that resulted in 297 driver contacts, 33 speeding citations, and 225 commercial vehicle contacts—another multi-agency operation is scheduled for March 20. KJCT

- ➤ The Colorado Council of Professional Archaeologists held its 47th annual meeting on March 15, giving students a chance to present research and learn from professors and graduate students—an opportunity that helps build early career connections. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Starting Monday, March 17th, ballots will be mailed to registered voters for the Grand Junction 2025 Municipal Election. Voters can return ballots by using drop boxes, mail, or by voting in person at the voter service center—ballots must be cast by the April 8th deadline at 7 p.m. KJCT
- ➤ The City of Grand Junction is working with the Colorado Plateau Mountain Bike Trail Association and Dirt Tech to review a grassroots bike park built in the eastern part of Matchett Park. - ➤ The Colorado Judicial Department has opened the application period for court security grants—providing $2.5M from the Court Security Cash Fund to help state courts with limited funds— and counties meeting at least two criteria on population, income, tax revenue or poverty must apply via AmpliFund by 5:00 p.m. on April 11th, 2025. - ➤ Nearly 500 behavioral health workers—including nurses, therapists, and cleaning staff—lost their jobs after West Springs Hospital in Grand Junction closed on March 10 and moves affected additional facilities in northern Colorado.
