  • Palisade was named Business View Publishing’s Best Managed City among towns with under 10,000 residents—award officials said it recognizes local hard work. Mayor Greg Mikolai noted the 2,500-resident town will use this honor to boost plans for wastewater improvements and other key projects as it prepares for summer festivals.  KJCT
  • The Great Outdoors Colorado board awarded $800K in grants for Mesa County projects—$500K will help build a new community recreation center at Matchett Park set to open in 2026 while $300K will allow Mesa County to expand its Grand Valley Stewardship Crew for outdoor work. The crew will work on trails and habitat projects that support local conservation and job training.  The Business Times

  • HopeWest hired Carter Bair as chief financial officer to oversee financial operations, compliance and strategic planning; he brings 22 years of experience from Hilltop Community Resources along with teaching accounting to help support families facing serious illness, aging and grief.  The Business Times
  • Palisade Pizza & PourHouse opened on March 1 and held its grand opening from March 15-17, ending with St. Patrick’s Day events. The restaurant offers a self-pour beer wall with 40 taps serving local brews and wines and features indoor seating for 200 while its outdoor patio and soon-to-be-developed 4.7 acres — including plans for a playground and fruit orchard — promise more family-friendly activities.  The Business Times

  • Colorado West Performing Arts Company will perform Coppélia — a ballet blending romance and humor — at Colorado Mesa University’s Asteria Theatre on March 29th and 30th. After each show, the audience will meet the cast.  KKCO 11

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Grand Junction High School's academic team won state at the 2025 Knowledge Bowl State Championship, earning the school its 26th title and 22nd Governor's Cup. Co‐coach Noah Schmidt said the contest covered high school subjects like math, science, and history.  WesternSlopeNow.com
