- ➤ The Palisade International Honeybee Festival will kick off this weekend as event organizers Dixie Burmeister and Michelle Gossage announced a reception at Talon Wines at the Meadery Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Honeybee festivities will begin downtown Palisade at 10:00 a.m. Saturday — parking is available and shuttles run every 15 minutes. - ➤ Bruin Waste Management is expanding in Grand Junction with a new division that will use advanced recycling and sortation technology—supported by Colorado’s Rural Jump-Start Program—to offer services previously available only in Utah. - ➤ Local resident Quantinn Williams faced housing instability until he joined a program at Trailer Made where he built a tiny home in 8 weeks to learn new skills and secure stable housing. - ➤ A 32-year-old woman was arrested on April 9th about 8:30 a.m. at Clifton Nature Park after deputies reported she threw trash from her car and then deliberately crashed into patrol vehicles and a parked car while trying to flee—damaging a fence estimated to cost $3,000 in repairs. KKCO 11
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Grand Junction will host its annual Grand Valley River Clean-Up on April 19, when community members will bring their own boats to clean a 30-mile stretch of river—participants will work on sections from four to seven miles long.
