- ➤ Vega, a five-year-old Border Collie mix, is available for adoption at Grand Rivers Humane Society. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, rides well in cars, and does tricks + gets along with kids, other dogs, and cats with proper introductions. KKCO 11
- ➤ The free Cycle Safety Fest and Crime Stoppers of Mesa County Car and Motorcycle Show is at the Mesa County Fairgrounds on Saturday, April 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Visitors will enjoy demo rides, interactive games, and a touch-a-truck experience (featuring local law enforcement) to promote road safety. - ➤ A section of sidewalk on Main near Fifth is being demolished as the city repurposes an old fountain into play areas for families including a custom wooden boat play structure, an oversized chess/checkers board and a play mound with a dual tandem slide plus extra features. - ➤ Outdoor recreationists joined the Grand Mesa Nordic Council on Saturday for a ribbon cutting at the new Skyway Station, a ski lodge awaiting final occupancy approval that will offer a warming area and ski equipment storage. - ➤ Vinelands Power Plant in Palisade is shut down because low Colorado River levels now favor irrigation over power generation. Orchard Mesa Irrigation District said the reduced output may strain revenue for Holy Cross Energy and affect future operations. KKCO 11
- ➤ Small business owners hit by drought can apply for SBA disaster loans offering up to $2 million at low interest rates with deferred repayment until Dec. 7 — the loans help cover debt, payroll and bills amid economic losses statewide. KJCT

- ➤ Mesa County Regional Transportation Planning Office launched a Crash Data Dashboard today to combine crash data from several agencies and help locals see trends and risks on roads (a tool that supports informed safety improvements). Mesa County
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ A California firm bought seven mobile home parks (including six in Grand Junction and one in Rifle) for nearly $70 million since December. Primrose Real Estate sold the parks, introducing new management by Breaking Ground Property Management, and officials have not received notice of any intended land use changes.
