- ➤ The Colorado Plateau Mountain Bike Trail Association and the city have begun rebuilding the community riding area at Lunch Loop Bike Park. The project started its first phase on April 6 to add a dual slalom course for riders of all ages (work will continue as funding allows). The Business Times
- ➤ The Mesa County Cattlemen’s Association holds its annual meeting on April 17 at the Business Incubator Center (2591 Legacy Way), with doors opening at 5 p.m. and speakers at 5:30 p.m. Officials and producers will discuss water issues and wolf reintroduction, and dinner is provided for RSVP by April 13. - ➤ O’Malley, a five-year-old cat (FIV positive) is looking for a calm home at the Roice-Hurst Humane Society; the shelter is open Tuesdays through Sundays from noon to 4 p.m. and he does best in a home suited for indoor living. KJCT

- ➤ Mesa Automotive now at 2540 U.S. Highway 6&50 near Sam’s Club uses bright signage so customers can easily find its auto repair shop. Owner Jimmy Gundelach plans to expand into auto sales as he grows the business if more repair work comes in. The Business Times
- ➤ DISH Network removed KJCT News 8 and other Gray Media stations over a month ago — after extending carriage during severe weather and major sports events such as the NFL playoffs and Super Bowl. Gray Media says DISH now demands unreasonable terms, leaving viewers to find local news through other providers. KJCT

- ➤ On April 25 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Mesa County's Solid Waste Hazardous Waste team is holding a free e-waste collection at Lincoln Park near the pickleball courts (for TVs, computers, phones, and more) for residents, with free drop-off up to 40 pounds per vehicle and charges for extras. - ➤ Water officials warned that drought conditions have worsened as low snowpack, early runoff and record heat strain local water supplies. They urge residents to conserve water and adapt to potential restrictions as summer approaches. The Business Times

- ➤ During National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, Grand Junction dispatchers are being honored as the Regional Communication Center handles nearly 300,000 calls annually (covering Mesa County to the Utah border) while manager Cindy Casteel highlights their vital role in public safety. KJCT
- ➤ A federal court ruled that the State Department must stop using funds to label news outlets as disinformation & track compliance with a decade-long monitoring process, according to a local letter writer. - ➤ Mesa County Public Health announced that interim director Erin Minnerath is the lone finalist for the permanent executive director position after leading the measles response and other divisions with noted dedication.
