- ➤ The 23rd annual Home Loan Taste of the Grand Valley fundraiser for United Way of Mesa County will be held Friday, May 2nd from 4-7 p.m. at the Historic Lowell School Building—ticket prices start at $40 and may rise to $45 at the door. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ The Mesa County Coroner’s Office identified two victims — 86-year-old Linda Cabler and her 67-year-old daughter Carynne Cabler — who died in a residential fire on Gunnison Avenue last Wednesday after firefighters arrived at 9:46 a.m. and transported them to a local hospital. - ➤ A Colorado man was sentenced to life in prison without parole after he stabbed his wife to death on April 18—jurors found 44-year-old Daniel Krug guilty of first-degree murder, two counts of stalking, and criminal impersonation after he had posed as her ex-boyfriend. KKCO 11
- ➤ A Colorado man, Daniel Krug, was convicted of murdering his wife Kristil after stalking her while pretending to be an ex-boyfriend—he was sentenced to life in prison without parole after the jury found him guilty on April 18. KJCT
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Social Security kept its lease at 825 N. Crest Drive after canceling plans to end it in June — leaving its long-term use of the building in question.
