CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Police responded to a fraud report at a Grand Junction bank on Tuesday that led them to a hotel where suspect Martin Suarez-Estrada, who had outstanding warrants, barricaded himself and fired one round before surrendering after several hours; a structure fire early in the morning on Cedar Avenue displaced three residents and two pets after flames spread from a home to a shed. - ➤ Mesa County hosted the Western Region Talent Summit on May 12 at the Mesa County Workforce Center on 29 ½ Road—local leaders, employers, and industry experts from 10 counties met to develop strategies under the Regional Talent Summits Act to address workforce shortages in construction, early childhood education, and healthcare. Outcome reports will be published by Fall 2025 and action teams will provide annual progress updates through 2030. Mesa County

- ➤ Mesa County Public Health has extended the No Burn Advisory until further notice to keep air quality acceptable and limit additional pollution.
