Today, locals gathered outside Orchard Mesa Community Center Pool after it reopened following a closure, with many expressing relief at having a key amenity nearby — a result of community efforts by the Save Orchard Mesa Pool group.

Grand Junction Police Department responded to a Friday night accident in the Tellers Arms parking lot on North Avenue and 28 Road that injured an adult and a 4-year-old child riding a minibike—while the truck driver was not injured and investigators continue to examine the cause amid increased car show activity.

The Bureau of Land Management has opened a 30-day public comment period on a proposed oil and gas lease sale that will offer 61 parcels totaling 51,068 acres in northwest Colorado including lands near Collbran and north of Mack—comments are accepted until July 18.

The proposal, set for December, now has revised plans that remove an 80-acre Jackson County parcel pending further review.
