- ➤ On June 22, The Ordinary Fellow winery partnered with Underdog Animal Rescue & Rehab to host a dog adoption event where community members met rescue dogs from local Native American Reservations. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On Saturday, June 21, Colorado Parks and Wildlife officials recovered the body of a man from Harvey Gap Reservoir after reports of a missing person and a found paddleboard led officers to search with a K-9 team—authorities turned the body over to the Garfield County Coroner for further investigation. - ➤ On Sunday afternoon, the Alpine Rescue Team and Flight for Life used a helicopter to find a lost hiker in the Stevens Gulch area near Kelso Ridge and landed at mile marker 221 on I-70 at 2:20 p.m.—officials report the hiker will be taken by ground ambulance to a hospital for further evaluation. - ➤ Jon Horn of the Black Canyon Audubon Society makes bluebird box kits for kids to build and hang to help local bluebirds—teachers in Ridgway and Ouray have used these kits in classroom projects and park outings to encourage environmental care.
