- ➤ Pollux Boutique at 321 Main St. in downtown Grand Junction is hosting its 25-year birthday bash from July 11-13 — offering a gift card drawing, a special toast on Saturday, and other activities as it gears up for another 25 years of serving loyal customers. - ➤ Since the start of June, 17 campfires were not fully put out and fire safety expert Mike Jones said checking restrictions, clearing dry fuels, and completely dousing fires with water is key — these steps help prevent wildfires from starting. KKCO 11

- ➤ Mesa County Public Health launched a new Behavioral Health Division to improve mental health services and data planning. Jennifer Daniels — a social worker with over 25 years in mental health care and suicide prevention — will lead the division. The Business Times
- ➤ County Commissioners signed a letter of support on June 24 for Mesa County's bid to apply for an $1.8 million Colorado Water Plan Grant to fund the 38 Road Bike and Pedestrian Project that will replace an aging water channel with twin 96-inch pipes and add a shared-use path along 38 Road. The project will boost water savings and safety and is backed by a local match of $4,181,800 and a $1,882,355 federal grant — a key investment in our community. Mesa County

- ➤ A house in Bookcliff Heights that once helped A Special Place clients will reopen as a mental health transitional housing facility under Ava Health, with services set to start early August or September. The property—owned by mayor Cody Kennedy—previously housed up to 16 guests and faced neighborhood concerns that the new provider said will be managed through improved communication and regulatory oversight.
