ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A pickup truck rolled over on Interstate 70 near mile marker five at about 2 p.m. Thursday, injuring five people who were taken to a hospital (the scene was nearly cleared by 4 p.m. and the crash is under investigation).  WesternSlopeNow.com

CRIME NEWS

  • Grand Junction police tased and arrested a combative knife-wielding suspect named Michael Ritchie on Thursday at 9:15 a.m., when officers found him on the 2800 block of North Avenue with active arrest warrants and transported him to a local hospital for evaluation before booking him into Mesa County Detention Facility.  Grand Junction Daily Sentinel

ECONOMY NEWS

  • AgriWest hosted its second annual council meeting at Clifton Community Center Wednesday evening—drawing over 60 regional agriculture and business leaders who shared ideas to strengthen local farming. Rancher Janie VanWinkle and BIC CEO Dalida Sassoon Bollig said the meeting set up workshops at CSU Western Campus on July 16 and Aug. 13—supporting plans to include agricultural input in regional transportation and business development.  Grand Junction Daily Sentinel

  • Today, the City of Grand Junction will relaunch the Almost Home Guide + a free resource under its At Home in GJ program that lets Mesa County families view rental units available for move in within 45 days.   • Attorney General Phil Weiser announced on Thursday that Colorado joined a nationwide settlement with eight opioid drugmakers that may yield over $12 million for local recovery efforts.
