- ➤ A Denver-based non-profit — Bergen Spay & Neuter Alliance — is hosting a four-day spay and neuter clinic at Mesa County Fairgrounds from Aug. 7 through 10 to offer low-cost procedures for pet owners. The clinic will also provide free surgery for feral cats on Aug. 10 with limited space available. Mesa County
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On Friday, crews responded to a gas line leak at the intersection of 25 Road and Patterson Road that forced the evacuation of nearby businesses and closed the area, and power for roughly 1,376 customers was scheduled to be restored by 1:30 p.m. KKCO 11

- ➤ Last month, rescue teams and law enforcement rescued 165 dogs and nearly 100 cats from deplorable conditions at a Delta County home — where animals are now in shelters in Peyton and Denver and homeowner Barbara Bowman faces 258 counts of animal cruelty. KKCO 11

- ➤ Vineyards in Grand Valley are watching wildfire smoke that might change grape flavors through a process called smoke taint, and winemaker Garrett Portra said he hopes the haze clears before harvest so the wines will not be hurt. - ➤ City officials say work on the roundabout at Horizon Dr. and G Rd. will continue through October while G Rd. east of N. 15th St. will be closed from Aug. 4th for two weeks.
