Grand Junction Police arrested 50-year-old Shariden Clare after he fled from officers at 4:50 a.m. Thursday on North Avenue—officers later recovered 27 grams of suspected methamphetamine and a firearm from his vehicle.

🌲 Environment
The City of Grand Junction received a multi-year $9.8M grant from the Colorado Circular Communities Enterprise on Thursday — the funds will support a new material recovery facility that will use advanced sortation equipment to boost recycling access for rural and underserved areas.
Ashley Ojala has been named the new executive director of the Colorado National Monument Association.
She joined in July and plans to work with the National Park Service to support programs — like the Resiliency Ranger and Raptor Monitoring Project — to share more stories of the monument with our community.

Mesa County Public Health announced seven confirmed measles cases, with two in minors and five in adults.
Officials said the outbreak—Mesa County’s first in 20 years—shows low risk for further spread as most cases are linked to known exposures.
