COMMUNITY NEWS

  • First responders and community members in Grand Junction climbed the stairs at Stocker Stadium on September 7 to honor those lost on 9/11, each wearing a lanyard with a loved one's name and photo. Organized by the GJPD and GJFD, nearly one hundred participants completed the challenge—climbing the equivalent of 110 stories—to remember their local heroes.  KKCO 11

  • Research shows that 15 minutes outside daily helps kids improve focus and manage their emotions by boosting oxygen flow and engaging their senses. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Grand Valley Transit is boosting service on Route 1 to help community members reach the new temple on Horizon Drive with free rides offered on Saturdays September 13, 20, and 27—buses will run every 30 minutes on these days while maintaining regular service on others.  Grand Junction Daily Sentinel
  • Mesa County Elections Office has launched the 'I Voted' sticker contest today for school children from grades 1 to 12 to submit 2-inch design entries for the 2026 election season. HEALTH NEWS

  • On a warm June morning, Ranger Amber Martin led nearly two dozen children from Riverside Educational Center on a hike at Colorado National Monument to teach nature-based coping skills. SPORTS NEWS

  • Wrigley Field Sports Bar is set to welcome fans for its first Sunday Night Football as the 2025 NFL season kicks off. Manager Kiffanie Davidson said the bar, voted 2nd Best Sports Bar, will also support local high school and Colorado Mesa University teams—strengthening its ties with the community.  KKCO 11
