- ➤ The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will host an open house for the Grand Junction Colorado Temple from September 11 through September 27, excluding Sundays, where the community can enjoy free guided tours. - ➤ A recent study ranked Grand Junction as 11th among small U.S. metros for affordable housing. In 2024 the city approved the construction of over 1,014 new housing units at an average cost of $148,650 each — highlighting its efforts to boost affordable living options. KJCT
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ A rain maker is on track to arrive late Thursday—bringing scattered showers and thunderstorms through early Friday and raising flash flood risks in valleys and mountains. - ➤ City officials have not finalized plans for Whitman Park, which closed in 2023 due to safety concerns and underwent public review in 2024 for a possible renovation.
