- ➤ On September 20, Fruita neighbors turned the intersection at Peach Street and Aspen Avenue into a colorful mural of aspen leaves — the city’s first Asphalt Art Paint Day gave free hotdogs and shirts to participants and aimed to slow traffic for safety. The City of Fruita plans to add more murals in the future. KJCT

- ➤ The 34th annual Colorado Mountain Winefest in Palisade drew nearly 4,000 attendees on September 20th—at Riverbend Park where over 40 wineries offered tastings—and supported local grape growers. KKCO 11

- ➤ The City of Grand Junction approved letters of intent with Rural Homes + Vertikal for the Salt Flats affordable housing project at its Wednesday council meeting. - ➤ Garfield County residents are invited to join the sixth annual Out of the Darkness Walk at Two Rivers Park on Sept. 27 — check-in starts at 9:30 a.m., and anyone affected by suicide may participate without fundraising. Mesa County’s HopeWest PACE recently served over 3,200 clinic visits, and Primary Care Partners will host cooking classes on Oct. 16 and Oct. 20 to promote diets that lower breast cancer risk.
