ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • A report released Oct. 1 by nonprofit environmental groups criticizes Colorado River managers for slow action as water levels drop in Lake Mead and Lake Powell—urging state leaders to cancel new dams and set water-cut plans ahead of post-2026 negotiations. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • City Manager Mike Bennett said the council will update its comprehensive plan in 2027 while short-term changes got little support at Monday’s work session. HEALTH NEWS

  • The Office of Gov. Polis said that Colorado is ranked the second healthiest state with the lowest obesity rate and high outdoor activity—although earlier reports ranked it 10th overall.
