- ➤ Downtown Grand Junction hosted its 10th annual Downtown Art Festival on Main Street on October 4, where more than 9,000 people enjoyed booths with paintings, photography, and handmade crafts along with live art demonstrations. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Since last year, the Colorado West Land Trust has permanently conserved eight sites that support water security for farms, wildlife, and communities, protecting 386 acres of riparian habitat, 1,806 acres of farmland, and over 30 miles of rivers across the region. The group finished 13 weeks of work in Glade Park and will restore over 130 acres of riparian and wetland land along the North Fork of the Gunnison starting in November—thinning vegetation near the Plateau Creek Canal to lower wildfire risk. - ➤ CPW workers found two mussels during end-of-season work at Highline Lake and sent them to a lab to test for zebra mussels.
