- ➤ Grand Junction residents are raising money and distributing food to help families affected by the SNAP freeze — Alli Burr raised over $2,000 for seven families and contributed to the Community Food Bank, while Jay Wilson placed groceries on his porch after posting on a neighborhood app. Their efforts aim to ease the struggle for those in need and encourage more neighbors to help. - ➤ Mesa County tallied the final votes from the 2025 Coordinated Election showing that incumbent Andrea Haitz in District C likely will retain her seat against Mike Rathbone. In District D, newcomer Kaci Cole holds a nine percent lead over incumbent Will Jones and in District E, former educator Vicki Woods maintains a 14 percent advantage — officials will certify the results in several weeks. - ➤ On Nov. 5, Mesa County Workforce Center hosted a free in-person workshop for job seekers over 50 at 9 a.m.—the center will hold four virtual sessions later this month to build resumes, practice interviews, and develop LinkedIn skills.
