GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Since the federal shutdown began over a month ago, Colorado's Division of Vocational Rehabilitation lost access to 75% of its federal funding for disability employment services—this shortfall has delayed crucial job placement assistance for many locals. The agency now uses state funds and local programs while urging affected residents to contact their representatives for help in restoring the funds.  Grand Junction Daily Sentinel
  • Palisade elected officials approved plans to renovate a boat ramp that serves nearly 14,000 visitors each year. The town will use its own workers, rented equipment, and natural boulders to lower the steep launch ramp over the next two to three months—officials said the upgrade may lead to a future addition of concrete if federal rules change.  Grand Junction Daily Sentinel

SPORTS NEWS
