- ➤ Grand Valley Power is accepting applications from high school juniors and seniors who receive its electricity and whose parents are members to attend an all-expenses-paid leadership trip either to Washington, D.C. from June 15-21 or to a youth camp near Steamboat Springs from July 11-16. Students must be at least 16 by the event and submit a 500-word essay online by Jan. 5—meeting all eligibility requirements. The Business Times

- ➤ Mesa County’s Hazardous Waste Collection Facility accepts select electronics for 80 cents per pound to ensure devices banned from landfills are recycled safely. County officials said the disposal process will be busy from now until the Super Bowl (including televisions, computers and video game consoles) as recovered metals are reused. KJCT
- ➤ The Confluence Center of Colorado launched a rapid fundraising campaign to raise $90,000 for installing a 40.9-kilowatt rooftop solar array by Atlasta Solar, which is expected to offset 70—90% of its electricity use before federal incentives expire on Dec. 31. The Business Times
